What is a Cold Calling Template?
A cold calling template is a structure or outline that you can use for building your script and identifying what you need to say when cold calling. The template could have different sections that break down the different parts of an ideal cold call.
Once you have a template, you can then insert your key points and questions into each section. And the great thing about using a cold call template is that the template can stay the same but what is said in each section of the template can then easily be changed and adjusted from call to call.

The key difference between a template and just a plain document is that the template will have a structure and typically be divided into sections. Here are sections that you can include in your cold calling template:
Introduction: Every cold call will begin with some sort of introduction. And there can actually be two different types of introductions that are needed. There will need to be some sort of introduction that occurs when talking with a gatekeeper and then a different introduction when talking with target prospects.
Value Statement: At the beginning of a cold call, you will not only need to tell the prospect what you are calling about, but you will also need to try to grab their attention and initial interest. One way to try to accomplish all of that is to deliver some sort of value statement.
Qualifying Questions: Your time is extremely valuable and as a result, you need to be effective at figuring out which prospects to spend your valuable time with. One way to help with that is to ask qualifying questions and that is a section that could be at the center of your cold call template.
Common Pain Points: Finding prospect pain will greatly improve your cold calling and lead generation. One step to help with getting pain into the conversation is to share some common pain points that other prospects and clients have expressed.
Building Interest Points: In order to keep the conversation going beyond the cold call, you are going to need to build some level of interest on the prospect’s side. Building interest is something that can be both challenging and time consuming. But one thing that we can do at a minimum is build some powerful points that help to build interest.
Closing: Ever conversation with a prospect should include some type of close attempt. In some cases, you are trying to close the sale. But in others, you may just be closing the prospect on meeting again on another day. Whatever the close is, there can be a place in the cold calling template that identifies the primary goal and closing language.
